Changing colour of my BMW M3

Recommended Posts

Where did you get your cut polish done? If done properly, it shouldn't happen.

I did it at espresso car wash in sylvia park

if it costs less than a couple hundred dollars and takes less than 3 -4 hours its likely to have been an extremely poor job. The "cut&Polish" that these car cafe places advertise should really be stopped from using that term.

If your gonna keep the car for awhile, do it.

That M3 in your photo looks awesome. Match it with some choice wheels and your set. go for it mate. Finally someone whose keen to be different.

Big Colour are real up there in the wrapping scene. Talk to Ross there.

DO ITTT

Hey mate - if you're worried about small paint imperfections, I'd look at this:

http://prestige.finishing.school.nz/

Think it's about $900, so a lot cheaper than a wrap.

You'd be pretty happy with the results too.

I was expecting to pay abour $3000 for wrapping the entire car, and about $2500 for the wheels.

I sent it for a detail and cut and polish, and more fine scratches apearred which really doesn't look that nice close up. How can I get rid of the fine scratches and swirls. My car has alot of fine scratches it is crazy how evident it is.

Most of shopping mall carwash place have no idea what they are doing. Same applies for many of the mobile washes.

And that's why you have swirls etc - there are forums dedicated to car detailing, with people messing around on scrap panels with expensive equipment to learn the ropes beforehand for this very reason. It needs to be taken to detailers that specialise in paint correction...

If ALL you have is the coin for wrapping - then forget it. If you have the coin for wrapping and general maintenence then go for it!

I'd get new wheels at the same time. Just to pull off the look properly.

The other bonus about a wrap is that it will protect your paint from stonechips etc. Bonus!

I agree!

Seth from Car Folie posted some examples they had done of full car wraps and as i recall it looked really good.

The bonus would be not having to do a "fad" paint job and then having to get it resprayed everytime you want something new...or going back to stock!!

if that makes sense?
