M3_Power 636 Report post Posted October 12, 2011 (edited) Okay I have had this set since new - I purchased this from BMW NZ brand new for about $6900 (seriously ripped off ) Anyway, these have been in my old E46 M3 and the CSL for the last couple of years (actually since 2004ish) They have had around 25,000 ~30,000km of travel and are in very good condition (Photo is of the kit when new obviously). It is genuine AC schnitzer coilover which is based on re-valved Bilstein PSSS9s and AC custom springs - not sure what the rates are - I can't remember now The ride is firm if set on hard and quite soft if you go the other way. It is a monotube design shock and the adjuster changes both damping and rebound at the same time. The fronts are coilovers, the rears are not - it uses shims at pre-determined ride heights (which ironically is identical to the CSL ride height) - I can provide an AST rear spring adjuster at extra cost if needed (but honestly it is not necessary). I no longer have the C Spanners, the dealership lost them. $1800ono You re-use the factory top hats with these, so top hats aren't included - basically what you see in the photo is what you get (I do still have the original AC Schnitzer box if you want it, but it is in pretty poor condition) Edited October 12, 2011 by M3_Power

M3_Power 636 Report post Posted October 12, 2011 Just out of curiosity. What is the new set up that you running on your car now? KW Race shocks 2 way adjustable straight out of a CSL Cup car Then I pulled them out because it was making the car undriveable on the street - so at the moment OEM shocks and springs

I wanted to buy KW's type 1 as well, but went with new FK brand, which have Koni adjustable struts and stainless steal bodies. They are German custom made, apparently developed on the Nurburgring

They are German custom made, apparently developed on the Nurburgring I've definitely read some good feedbacks about FK shocks - definitely the good type Konis!! KWs do make some good products, but from my time dealing with them it can be a little up and down in terms of customer service - they can be absolutely exceptional sometimes, yet other times I've come to think WTF over very trivial issues (PM me if you want to know more!!) As a product they are definitely rated reasonably highly, especially anything clubsport and above. But obviously there are always better, although not usually in a reasonable price range like the KW gear. Sorry for being off topic but who did you get your kw's from? Thanks Mine came from a racecar in the UK, then were sent to KW Racing in Germany for a full overhaul. Actually half of the kit is brand new and the other half completely rebuilt back to new. I deal with KW Motorsport directly as a privateer customer. All their race stuff is customised, the CSL cup stuff have their own settings based around the CSL.
