pulse 9 Report post Posted January 14, 2012 Hi, looking for suggestions for replacement, dimpled/slotted discs for my E85. Also, is worth replacing just the front discs or do you really need to do all four?
matt45 1 Report post Posted January 14, 2012 Hi, looking for suggestions for replacement, dimpled/slotted discs for my E85. Also, is worth replacing just the front discs or do you really need to do all four? Unless your going to spend big money on performance parts. Just get Genuine BMW pads and rotors. They work well and make zero noise. Crappy generic 3rd party parts cause squealing/screaming.
my_e36 43 Report post Posted January 15, 2012 (edited) Do the fluids while you are at it if you don't know when it was done last time. It can makes quite a difference. Edit: typo Edited January 15, 2012 by SpikeyLemon

my_e36 43 Report post Posted January 15, 2012 Brembo and AP first comes to mind. You can talk to RaceBrakes on New North Road for advice, but if you read their website, there is no need for upgrade for road car unless it goes to track a lot to justify the cost. M5V8 337 Report post Posted January 15, 2012 zimmermann supply BMW all the OEM fitted disc's. They also make slotted versions of the same rotor's. If you wanted just to upgrade the disc's? I imported a slotted set (front only) for the M5. Around $1500 if I remember rightly.

tcbaurpower 5 Report post Posted January 16, 2012 Some interesting info in here to ponder on http://www.garageboy.com/bmw/brakefaq.html Often other people have commented that bmw brakes seem lack luster. However I know they work as expected when they are really needed.
