simonvv 2 Report post Posted March 8, 2012 Looking for some upgraded brakes for my 635CSi that will bolt straight on with no fabrication needed. Not sure of series but see pic below... "This kit fits the E28 5 series and E24 6 series form 1982 to 1988. It does both front and rear. Front is BMW 750 components and rear is BMW 540. The difference in stopping power is huge. This is a "Bolt On" with no fabrication or special tools required. Kit includes rebuilt calipers with pads, rotors and stainless steel hoses. Since the kit uses BMW components future maintenance or replacement is not an issue." If anyone can enlighten me on whats in the photo and where I can get some that would be great! BM WORLD 1283 Report post Posted March 8, 2012 yes i run the same sort of set up in my e28 m535i that i use on the track etc. just use the front brakes from a e32 735i 740i 750i or e34 540i etc rear brakes from a e34 540i . you can use the rear calipers from a e32 740i or 750i but you will need the discs from a 540i. the other types you can use are from e31 840ci 850i 850csi or e28 m5 e24 m635vsi e34 m5 etc but the advantage of using the e34 540i type is the discs and pads are pretty cheap and easy to get what year is your e24 635csi?? may be able to help. also i have some adaptor plates so you can use front brakes from a e38 728i 740i 750i etc

Or would it be best to source some big 7's 540i fronts are the same as 735i 740i 750i etc. rears are also teh same but the 735i and maybe the 750i are solid so they are no good but the 740i rear haver the same calipers as the 540i but the e32 discs wont work , you need e34 540i or m5 rear discs etc. The car is a '83...
