w55 behind m30

thread mainly aimed at anyone that knows heaps about M30s (ie brent) and toyotas (glenn), anyone put a W55 toyota gbox behind a m30 before?

How do they price out glenn? and anyone have any idea on what you would need to modify, for example would I use part of a motronic bellhousing to bolt it up, or a spacer of some sort

how does motronic get its signals on the M30? From the gearbox or from a rpm sensor on a spark wire and a bigwheel/magnet combo on the front of the motor?

sparkle . i have a freind with a 525i manual . you could buy the whole car or just the kit from him.

i think he wants $600 for the kit .

you would need to do the little mod to the flywheel .(i can give instructions ) and tap and drill the sensor pick up thingy's into the bell housing.

dont bother with toyota gearbox , easier to find bmw one .

the e28 535i has 2 pick ups on the bellhousing .

the e34 535i has a spark plug sensor and crank sensor instaed (better system )

you could convert your motronic engine wiring loom to a e34/e32 one with the ecu (which are better than e28 one ,more advanced newer designed system)

then you wouldn't need to worry about the flywheel sensors .

ps. let me know if you want the 5spd conversion kit .

looms are easy

swap loom over, then no need to use the gearbox sensors.

auto is gay..go 5 spd

and the more advanced thing is all relative..its still 10+ years old
