isis 16 Report post Posted June 30, 2012 (edited) Parting ways with the e53 next week and have spend the weekend removing the toys. I built the enclosure based on designs on the web to fit into the right hand side of the boot. this is where the original oem enclosure is located. You're still able to shut the cover, but sounds 'louder' with it open. Its got a JL Audio sub - there's minor tear on the cone, but it still sounds fine. Its made a world of a difference to the sound in the car. Sub & enclosure $200 Keeping the amp Edited June 30, 2012 by isis
deeveus 81 Report post Posted June 30, 2012 I can vouch after owning 4x E53's the stereo's in them terrible, especially compared to the ML320 CDI that I had, the stereo in that was unbelievable for a factory car, had 4 sub woofers factory. I looked at doing a similar setup on my first diesel X5.
isis 16 Report post Posted June 30, 2012 The upgraded premium one isn't that bad though..but they're quite a rare find in NZ unless you've got the 4.8iS versions which usually have them. E70 however sounds much better
