E30 diff cover gasket replacement

Recommended Posts

My diff's been slowly dripping my precious redline fluid so I've decided it's time to replace the seal on the diff cover (which is where the leak seems to be).

I'm just wondering what your opinions are on the chemical gasket maker used in this write up?

Seems to make sense over a paper gasket but I thought I'd get some professional opinions before I order it.

Cheers in advance

Bit the bullet and got Permatex "Right Stuff" gasket maker over the cheaper Permatex products.

The guy at the shop said it makes gaskets to the quality of pre made rubber gaskets, so I guess time will tell!

We use Urethane...not silicon. It just needs to be used correctly
