tobester 9 Report post Posted August 14, 2012 Had the E28 for a few weeks now and the averageness of the brakes is starting to bother me. Thinking about keeping it simple and just buying front and rear E34 540i discs and calipers, though I'm aware that the brake bias would be slightly further forward than stock. Is this really a big issue for road use? Also, this is probably a slightly dumb question but, with bigger brakes, would this mean that you don't need to apply as much pedal force to get the same amount of stopping power? Lastly, any negative effect on the ABS system?
BM WORLD 1286 Report post Posted August 14, 2012 have 540i set up in my e28, works fine , pulls up quicker, i also change the master cylinder to the 735i 750i type . but either way it works fine , no problems with the abs etc i did mine in stages , first the fronts , then the rears then the master cylinder , at each stage it made a differnce for the better. pulls the e28 up from 220km/h at pukekohe back straight to 50km/h for the hairpin with no problems see here or you could go for this set up http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....8&hl=brembo but will require 17" or larger wheels

They are the weakest link...
