E21 wheel options

Recommended Posts

I have a older e21 318i and have been told i ma fairly limited for wheel options.

I have 2 sets, the set on the car (pictured)

And a set of original steel wheels (second pic)

What is limiting my wheel options? Offset?

I was thinking about getting the steel wheels widened to about 8" with a relatively large dish. Anything aside from guard run I should look out for?

Thanks,

Ados

i havent owned an E21, but i cant see why youd have any issues, its just a 4x100 stud pattern the same as E30s and basically anything FWD out of japan. your right that the offset is lower than normal 4x100 wheels though, id imagine it would be the same as E30 fitment

If its like an 02 (and I assume it is, but worse), the problem is not having too much backspace or the wheel hits the strut on the inside. I suspect more than about 100mm of backspace will cause a problem - maybe try searching on e21 and offset and backspace.

Personally I reacon the OEM alloy suits the car. From the look in the pic - maybe just lower it a tad
