danutt 4 Report post Posted August 3, 2005 my friends mazda familia 1500 dohc fuel injected has a problem...again and were wondering with the knowledge that you posses you could help out . wen you drive the car it wont rev passed 3000rpm or 3750rpm but afta driving a while it then moves further up the revs to like 5000rpm its will not rev passed those rpm at all but you can often drive the car with the rev limit being stock as it was and without a problem,i asked a garage bout it and they ruled out ecu or rev limiter fault and were talking bout it being an ignition problem??? wet/moist distributor? plug leads? sparkplugs? a/f? ecu? any help is gladly appreciated thankyou Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

If so, check the oil isn't OVER FILLED...seen a case where engine just refused to rev, cause, oil was filled right up way passed the max amount Limp mode is when enigne managment detects some problem and goes into a safe mode.
