E36ShoppingTrolley 7 Report post Posted October 30, 2012 So i got my e30 325i out of the garage the other day for the first time in a long time and i instantly noticed the brakes had become shocking and very very spongey. So i bled them, checked pads, calipers etc with my very limited mechanical knowledge to no avail. There is a rather loud hissing noise coming from what sounds like below the gearbox everytime i push the pedal which must surely be the cause of the problem. Has anyone had any similar experiences or can diagnose this sound? Thanks
curves.asia 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2013 Have the same problem in re: the hissing push. Brakes are spongey on spirited drives etc. Don't have a mechanical knowledge but have I'm having my brakes checked out soon at the shops. Ps: had a brake hose change couple months before I bought the car.
dubman 39 Report post Posted February 11, 2013 sounds normal to me... you might have forgotten how poor the brakes are after not driving it for a while give it another bleed, i do rears 1st jacked up, then fronts jacked up

Lol compared to both my world-beater Toyotas. Though I think the rotors need replacing though, cos the discs grind when I drive. Probs.
