E30 instrument cluster

Recommended Posts

Very occasaionally I have a wierd problem with my instrument cluster....

Upon start up, the tachometer rises to about 3000rpm and my temp gague shoots up to the top and doesn't move. The rest of the cluster works fine.

Most of the time it fixes itself within a few minutes, but this time it hasn't.

I pulled all the fuses and replaced them, still no fix. Any ideas?

service interval batteries are nearly dead, or the ground is bad

i havent actually done it, but there will be a writeup on the web. its just a case of opening it up and changing them. i seem to recal needing to import the batteries but i could be wrong on that.

I just swapped my clster for another one intending to change the batteries but i never did get round to it and stripped the car. not a solution for your M3 though
