toby7 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2012 Hi, The fuel pump on my 1987 BMW 318i (m10 engine) is whirring away continuously. Not giving any problems that i'm aware of. Is this a sign the pump is on it's way out ? car has done 120,000km If so then what would this cost to replace ? Could a local garage do the work ? Cheers Thanks Pete

hotwire 352 Report post Posted November 7, 2012 They obviously "wirr" continuously while going, more than normal noise is an indication the pump is on the way out
