liyi_92 37 Report post Posted December 19, 2012 Hi there, I was coming home one afternoon and i did a left hand turn (nothing crazy). After driving for around 100km I started hearing my power steering whine when I switched lanes. By the time I reached a stop light the car felt like it had no power steering at all and when turned the wheel I heard a sound that sounded like when you are sipping juice etc through a straw and only having the last tiny bit remaining. Then all sound ceased and I lost powersteering completely. I have taken the car to a workshop and they said there were no more power steering fluid. When they tried putting more in the fluid just dumped itself from the bottom of the car. They said something must have burst. Any problems similar to this? Workshop hasn't got it on the hoist yet as schedule is quite full so need some suggestions for the meantime. Thanks
elmarco 56 Report post Posted December 19, 2012 Power steering hose leaks are common - so it isn't inconceiveable that one could fail catastrophically.
