curves.asia 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2013 Hello everyone, Got foglights off my mate to retrofit into my E30 today and spent the afternoon doing that. Everything was going well until I plugged in the battery to test the lights to see if they're working. So when the battery's plugged in, the foglights immediately turned on so that was a bit odd since all the switches are off... Next up the main driving headlights won't turn on afterwards (but only the top parking lights), even after all the plugs for the retrofit fogs were disconnected and put back into normal spec... Can anyone shed some light on this? The headlight fuses (#1 and 2) and the fog light fuses (#29 and 30) aren't shot, but I have doubts on the relays? Might've blown the relays for the headlights? Will be heading into Repco to get new relays tomorrow, so for K3, K4 (headlights) and K8 (foglights), are they all the same relay type(s) or is there specific ones that I need? And do I need to have a relay for K9 as well for the fogs? Help!! Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

And are you sure you haven't blown the headlight bulbs etc, From my experience they blow pretty easy.. Have you checked there is power going to the headlight wires when the switch is on? Flick it on, get a multimeter and check there is voltage, that would eliminate a power problem. Or if there is no power, work your way back and get an e30 wiring diagram to work your way back see where power stops.
