Jazzbass 1 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 After 7 years with a couple of E36s, I moved to an E39 two months ago. For the first few weeks, it just felt 'big' and my driving style changed as a result. This week, something happened and everything fell together and the car now feels 'normal and right'. Although most BMWs feel much the same - the change from a 3 to 5 is different from just changing between 3s. How long does it take for you to feel at one with a new car? bravo 35 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 Know what you mean. I drive ALOT, so usually about 2 weeks and I can feel "as one" and start to unconscuiously predict it's behaviour.
Sudo 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 Going from an understeering, body rolling Subaru Impreza to an E36 Compact was different for me, deffinitely took awhile to get used to the BMW, but I deliver cars for my dad so I get used to alot of different cars. BMW POWER 2 Report post Posted August 19, 2005 My parents also made the E36 - E39 transition about 4 months ago. They both love the 5er, and they also said its totally different to the 3 series.. totally different handling etc.
