Exterior mirror at finished travel starts to tick

I know this is not a mini forum but this is an very good active one with some very learned members and I was hoping that someone here could help with the problem i have got. The car is a 2005 mini cooper s , it has retracting exterior mirrors and one on the Rh side fails to stop normally and ticks till I push it back a bit. is there a general fix for this or a modification that can be done to remedy the problem?

Sounds like a gear drive issue inside. Would probably require disassembly to diagnose.
