E30 BMW M3: Most Overhyped Classic? - AFTER/DRIVE

The BMW M3 E30 is blowing up, rocketing 27% in value (US or Europe?) since last year. Is it the most overhyped classic car of our generation, or an icon worth every inflated penny and more? Today's AFTER/DRIVE panel is everything E30:

yeah that drive seat is the only thing that bugs me from just looking at the photos

BUT after reading this i was fully off the car as it seems non genuine

Ok, I went and had a look at this car today.

It is very clean, straight and tidy, everything seems to work as it should. But there are just a couple of odd things. "the left inner front guard has been replaced". Really? that is why the paint code sticker says it is Diamantschwarz, whereas the car is Lachsilber (or more likely dolphin grey). Gear knob need replaced, no big deal. Aftermarket drivers seat. The other front and rear seats are in Ok condition, stitching coming apart in one or two places. But, the door trims are different to the seat trim, and the rear side interior panels are different again. There are a few little nicks and scratches, nothing too serious. It is Japan spec, so standard gearbox, not dog-leg. I am tempted, but...

Interesting video thanks for posting it, I think the E30 two door variants will be next to increase in price especially the ones in good order and stock original condition.

So if you have one of these look after it and start buying parts for it.
