MilesP 13 Report post Posted July 31, 2013 Have a 93 E36 318i with the GM automatic. 98000kms on the car and no error codes etc. The car shifts just fine and smooth. When I got the car the thermostat was not right and so temp was everywhere. I replaced it and now the car doesn't like changing into last gear when its cold. Occasionally it will change if I just drop all power and return it. Almost as if it would hold gear if I was going up a hill. When the car warms up though absolutely no problems. Could it just be a case of changing gearbox oil? Or is this commonly caused by some thing else? Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
