antil33t 90 Report post Posted August 16, 2013 Have been using dad's car, 86' E30 320i/5 and have noticed it's misfiring constantly especially when it's warmed up. it idles absolutely fine, it has no vacuum leaks (as it did, and now they have been fixed) Seems to do it around 3000RPM the most though. Tempted to just change the distrocap/rotor/leads and plugs as I doubt they have been done. the l-jet system is utterly strange, is there anything else that is known to cause issues? chuur
euroriffic 609 Report post Posted August 16, 2013 If it's only doing it around then I'd say it's fuel related. Has it had a new filter? Check fuel pressure and voltage at the pump. I can borrow my workmates pressure tester and take a geez.
antil33t 90 Report post Posted August 16, 2013 I had a bit of a think on the way home from work this morning. seems to miss at random, was even doing it in 3rd gear at 1000rpm. Definately want to check the fuel pressure... might even pull the plugs later, if the weather improves.. bloody dad, never spends money on things that need it, needs new shocks too.
