Grant 4 Report post Posted September 19, 2005 Depends, what are you after, performance, or a newer better all round car? Not really comparing apples with apples with the two choices. Cheers Grant
sadida20 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2005 To be honest not looking for performance. Just something which is Great to ride in. NOT to expensie on Gas and looks good. Cheers

Cheers Using that criteria, then I'd go for the E46.You are getting a newer, better looking (in my opinion anyway), cheaper to run, better appointed car, than an E36. localdevdas 2 Report post Posted September 19, 2005 Yep, go for the E46 mate. Obviously a better car because its newer, and since its a 318 with the 1.9liter four, it'll use up heaps less fuel than the 328 with its 2.8liter sixer.
aliluya 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2005 i'd say if you want a cruiser then just go for the E46 ...
hybrid 1043 Report post Posted September 19, 2005 (edited) I have owned both the e36 and currently the e46.. A 328i will be a lot more fun .. however for qaulity and 'newness' the 318 e46 would be your choice. The interior of the e46 is about two car generations ahead in contrast.. If you want fun as others have said .. go the e36, if you want comfort go the e46. E46 wise .. they arn't that expensive to service. However 'performance' parts cost more than e36's. if ya have any questions concerning both .. hit me up on PM Edited September 19, 2005 by hybrid
