Recommendations for a Semi Slick to be used purely for trackdays

Recommended Posts

Hey

With me getting a new set of wheels for my track days (Apex EC-7 wheels) - I am looking for a pretty decent semi slick

I have rounded them down to the Nitto NT01 or the Toyo R888 - though if you know a better option would be keen to hear

Would love to hear feedback if you've run either for track application etc

thanks

I have had good results with dunlop formula r. Semi slicks

Though would pribably choose r888 toyos.

Have found toyo proxes 4 the best wet weather tyre just incase you are looking at more than one set.

Also try to stick with a standard size.

The compounds harden with age so an oddball size nay be much older when you buy it rather than a common size.

Archillie 123's are a nice cheap option and perform ar 80-90% of most of the big names, so if your out there having fun then these are a great option. I just did the south island tour and 4 track days on them and they were great!

Go for the Toyo R888 as used exclusively in the BMW Race Driver Series on the E30's.

Brilliant tyre in wet or dry, although they do have designated 'wets'.
