twisted 45 Report post Posted May 4, 2014 I unclip the expansion tank and lift it high. Leave overflow hose disconnected and at normal level. Fill tank till all air expelled from overflow hose. Put everything back and start the Car with heater on hot. Bleed as normal, but I usually find most Ariel has already been expelled.

d.p.n.s 15 Report post Posted May 4, 2014 so if the tank comes aprt there must be a gasket or o ring in there and I wonder if that's where the 1 I just took out was leaking from.

euroriffic 609 Report post Posted May 4, 2014 Good tricks I use are try get the nose of the car as high as possable to expel air easier, key on so heater valves open, and poor coolent in veeerrrrrrryyyy slllooooowwwwwwllllllyyyyyy. I usually use the 1 litre bmw coolant bottle and take just over a minute or so to trickle it in then give it a few mins before doing the next one. Then usual procedure after that, warm up, bleed valve open etc etc
