e46: oil sensor part number doesn't natch up?

Need a new oil level sensor, entered my car's serial into RealOEM which gave me the exact car (pretty nifty). However, the oil sensor part no. 12617501786 I can't seem to find in many places online except for twice the price of Hella's ones, who I believe make the OEM ones anyway?

Wondering if the oil sensor is the same across all e46s? Mine's a 2002 318 with n42 engine.

No the n series motor is different from the m type in the e46 range BMW Fans it shows as being used in the 1,3,X,Z series using the N20, 42, 43, 45, 46 engine type. Check with some of the forum sponsors or Milan trade me, e-bay or the dealership somebody is bound to be able to help you out.
