Just a quick one

Recommended Posts

hey guys im just thinking about getting a kit shipped in from pelican parts as they seem reliable ( not too flash on the replies though )

hate to be a pain

but heres a question u guys probably might be able to answer.

Clutch kits for a 325i on pelican parts are 1987 E30 models onward, i have a 1986 i dont see why it wouldnt fit. but i dont know enough about the mechanics of it all.

Will the clutch for a 1987 E30 fit a 1986 ? theres no big difference between the two is there ?

So i can just order it in and forget about the tech questions i keep trying to get through to pelican parts

cheers

ummmmmm, PEL-SKCKE30-06 is the code for it and its on this page

Clutch Page

its 283 US dollars so thats about 400 nz dollars and then you got shipping and all that. their aparantly oem, what are my other options. like

how about

i could get it done through sherson, but i dont want any labour work done, have some car mechanic friends that will fit the clutch for a ultimate quarter pack.

so who are some good people to see about getting clutch systems, obviously bmw specialists, cause any one that doesnt like bmw, mention the 1000 dollar mark.

what about SD european ? they worth the drive ?

places up in auckland ?

birch ave auto spares, had a talk with the guy today and hes happy to give me a quote as we buy stuff regulary there ?

it would be great if you could throw some trust worthy names out, cause i dont know who to trust ..... i drive a bmw, i knew this was going to happen.

Go to BNT or one of the BMW specialists, cost around $300, which is pressure plate, clutch disc and bearing.

just because its a BMW dosent mean you have to go genuine, just go to Supercheap/Repco/BNT and get a decent clutch, or fork a bit more out and get a uprated clutch from proclutch? or similar... Ring keith at Auto Brake and Clutch or something.... I dont see what your problem is

Quotes........

BNT: Standard, looking at 580, ( 620 including shipping from gisbourne )

LuK Clutch, Came to 500.

( All these prices were for the parts and not being fitted )

Coombes Johnson BMW,

One option only, came to round about 600

Auto Brake and clutch the same

Other people were quoting round the 800 dollar mark.........

Pelican parts lol....... provided they can reply to my tech question is 450 including shipping.

ring scotty or jase @ central auto parts, 06 323 0903, they will do it a hell of a lot cheaper than pelican parts and will be a LuK clutch kit, tell them Cameron told you to ring them.
