Beeker2 69 Report post Posted July 26, 2014 (edited) I'm fitting a new full (header back) super sprint exhaust to the E36 M3 3.0, There is a exhaust ring (soft composition) between the rear and mid section, like the picture below. It was very stuck on the old pipe, but i managed to knock it off by knocking the flange behind it. When i try to reinstall it onto the new mid pipe, it wont go on. I cant bang it on as its composition is soft and i'll destroy it, and unlike the uninstall (metal flange is only on the inside). Yes, yes, i know you are officially suppose to replace them, and i will once stock arrives but i want to get this on the road this wkend. Do these things shrink after first being used? Any tips to get it on? Edited July 26, 2014 by Beeker2
aja540i 1906 Report post Posted July 26, 2014 You could try heating it up, metal expands when it heats up and it may be enough to get it over the pipe.
