2l 6 cyl or 1.8l 4cyl (no iS), free brake compounds, hopefully an exhaust mod (muffler), roll cage and chuck out the seats and get a race seat.

That's about all, that we know. Look at the UK series, if you would like to know more (as I said earlier).

i think i may have found the motor which will be going in my old 316i for this series today, found it in a back back storage room behing all this bmw crap at wairau- looks to be an e36 twin cam 4 cyl with 2 big twin throat webers with cool looking K&N filters on ends.

That engine won't be allowed. It needs to be an E30 six or four cylinder. And no motors with an S designation. i.e the S42.
