Gus and I popped down to see the car today - looking good. They do mint work at herbert's.

Lucky we did as they had assumed gus was a similar size to me and his head would of got owned by the cage hah.

Some crappy phone pics.

Cage is prob 60% done -

Conrad: Apparently they did a very similar thing with your cage at the back - did they rebuild the rear firewall? I hear you were running coilovers in the back though.

Yes, he took to the rear firewall with the plasma cutter and blew it out, I was a bit annoyed I let him do that, as obviously there is a HUGE hole to cover up.I had to make a panel to cover it up. It is entirely possible to leave it in there, but requires a bit more time to cut the holes in the correct places for the tubes to run through, and a few smallish pieces need to be cut out, to enable access to weld the tubes to the shock towers, and these can be stitched back in afterward...... I'll do my next one this way. Yep, had coilovers in the ones I have built. Just missed out yesterday on an E30 M3 with frontal damage in Japan, but am looking hard!

now THATS how strong the rear shock mount should be.

Looks like they had as much fun welding to the stock arches as I did!!!

Looking good Andrew!!

Wait till you see my new Towers!!! Thats how they should have been!!!

Just finished undersealing the wheel arches, need some paint for the boot and she's almost there.

looking forward to it - did you do it a similar way?

i don't really want to paint the interior of the car - i think i'll just get some henna made up and go over the metal bits.
