Ahmedsinc 414 Report post Posted October 8, 2014 (edited) If it makes you feel any better I did the same on my 325i after breaking my third one of the temp probe thingies. Nearly 2 years ago and no ill effects. Up to you though If you do go ahead with replacing it I advise buying new rather than used. The plastics suffer the same fate as all other cooling bits, goes brittle and craps out - two of the three on my car came apart by themselves.
