E39 m54 exhaust camshaft position sensor removal

Do i have to take the expansion tank out to access the 5mm hex bolt for the sensor? Theres like no space to fit anything in there, let alone a 1/4" ratchet

Nah, can get to it with a hex key. Try harder

Supercheap sells a really small ratchet and bit set. Thats what i used for my cps's and they're on the back of the cylinder heads.

I used that same tool for the ccv valve on the back of the m62 manifold. Very handy

Thought this might be small enough (below), but I failed at fitting that. An Allan key was my only option. Ended up doing it when replacing the radiator anyway.. had all the space in the world
