Golfboy666GTI 68 Report post Posted January 25, 2015 I replaced the air filter in my girlfriends E36 318IS Motorsport (M44 engine) yesterday. I was surprised to see the inside of the airbox lined with foam. I was a little shocked to see that the foam was breaking down as soon as it was touched. Not something you want to get sucked into your engine. Is this a well know fault? Is this foam in a lot of BMW air boxs?
