Airbag Reset - Any ideas? Got a Tool?

Recommended Posts

Guest MP0wer

Airbag light came up on my 95 328i. Originally had done a Steering Wheel replacement last year but followed all steps to ensure the light never came up (diod mod). It came back up this year, right before wof due to a battery reset. Now it wont go away.

Research tells me I need to head to the dealer (local wants $60) or buy a tool. Anybody got a tool I can borrow to erase the code or pop by around and you help me with it?

A reset tool or battery reset won't hide a hard fault in the SRS module

I need to diagnose it though, if its a hard fault or just a glitch.

Do you have a tool by chance I could borrow or pop in?

I live out West, Mums 320i 1998 had the dreaded airbag light stay on. SO we bought a cheap thingmajiggy of tardme me, hooked it up and now its gone. I cant say all of the reasons why they go off in the first place will be fixed by this thing, but it erased it this time. Yours is OBDII so should be the same port at least.
