stolen 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2005 (edited) Hello, i checked out a 325Ci today. its 93, 180k, blue, m3 wheels. Owner said it had some sort of adjustable suspension. Looks low. Sunnroof. AUTO. He wants 7500 for it. It drove pretty well. Said he had it for 18 months and has had servicecs done every 6 months and selling as he got a 2001 model. Said needed the steering rack replaced for the WOF which cost ~$1000. JAP import. The door trimming is coming out a bit near the door handles. Just realised it might be someone on here! Could you please let me know what you guys think? Dont want to end up with a expensive lemon! And places i could get it checked out as well would be great. Thanks. EDIT: Cloth interior. I havn't heard of steering rack need replacing unless it's been in accident. (Experts out there, correct me if I am wrong) If you are serious for the car, get a specialist/dealer pre-purcahse inspection (BMWorkshop, Jerry Clayton and the likes) to look through that. Should be around $100-150. Oh yeah thats the one. I saw it at the ellerslie car fair today though. I dunno he said it needed to be changed for the WOF along with 2 new tyres. Jazzbass 1 Report post Posted December 11, 2005 (edited) I've had two E36s - both required steering racks replacements at over $1200 each. It seems to be a common problem - my other friends with E36s have both had theirs done too. All of us have also had to replace the rear shock top mounts, but they're quite cheap. Dnz 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2005 (edited) Yah, its ok to have a wee bit of play in it, but it does seem very common. Anyway, with it being that km's, find out about coolant issues especially, as well as how the transmission is doing.. Plus by then it should have had some bushings replaced, and the waterpump/radiator neck done. Id be weary just coz of the price..Look at others within that range - something is up.
