M20 Flywheel bolts

Recommended Posts

So my manual says to replace these... So I guess I need some new ones.

8x m20 single mass flywheel bolts for an 85 525e.

Any thing else I should replace while I'm there?

What's the best place to get these? Dealership (gulp), amazon, ebay, pelican parts or some local supplier?

Thanks

I also replaced mine when doing a clutch/flywheel job. I think the common recommended maintenance when the gearbox is off is to replace the engine rear main seal, pilot bearing, flywheel resurfacing, clutch kit (inc. throw out bearing), pivot pin, transmission main shaft seal, shifter linkages..

I bought flywheel bolts from the BMW dealership, was $80 or so I think, but its worth while since they wont be seen until the next clutch job.

You can check with your dealer or parts supplier what the cost for each of those parts is, then decide what you want to do.
