What tyres E39 540i

Anyone got a good recommendation for tyres for an E39 540i. Last set were Toyo and they are crap (noisey and vibrate). I am looking at a set of Dunlop SP Sport 2000E tyres 235/45 X 17 and would like to know if anyone has had experience with these tyres on this or similar car. Interested in information on noise level, grip and mileage.

I had Goodyear F1's on mine prior to these Yoko's. They were excellent in the wet, quiet, lasted well (as long as they were aligned) and good in the dry. Not super for track work though.

They are cheap too, a full set fitted for about $1000 incl Gestapo Tax.

Oh, and seeing as you had your wheels, balanced at Leon's he'll recommend you something too. 3 Pedals has an E39 too, can't remember what tyres it has on.

I think tyres are quite subjective..I like my bridgestone gIII in 235/45/17 on my e 34 535.

Yeah thats what my parents have on their E39 523. They had Continental Contisports prior to that but they're so bloody dare, $950 EACH tyre for 18's!

Not that it has anything to do with the price of fish, but 99% of performance and V- engined bmws that came into work had Contisports
