dkonsta1 109 Report post Posted April 26, 2016 Hi guys here is an interesting one for you. My E46 328ci and E39 525i share the same MAF sensor. I have diagnosed a bad MAF on the 525i with Glenn's diagnostic tool. (No signal from the maf, completely dead) although the car does not throw any lights on the dashboard or drive rough. So I thought ok let's swap with a working one from my 328ci. in this way I will confirm if this one is really faulty and also see how it will affect the 328ci. So the results are like follows after the swap. The 328ci with the "faulty" MAF installed still starts and runs "fine" but the gearbox goes on limp mode (light on the dashboard) This to me says the culprit sensor is actually faulty. The 525i though with the "good" MAF installed still starts and runs the same as before. No changes at all. Any ideas??? *Glenn* 854 Report post Posted April 26, 2016 You would need to clear the fault codes and adaptions in the 525 then try it
