SRacin 44 Report post Posted June 7, 2016 So I thought it would be a good idea to swap over the guts form the worn out key to the non functioning but mint key housing at lunch time. Quick job, hey says, what could go wrong he says..... Well here I am no stranded.... So since I didn't have the car unlocked at the time of swapping them over both keys have effectively lost their coding or whatever it is called I can no longer use the factory manual process of programmed (should have RTFM!). What are my options? Can I fix this myself or do i need to get the dealership involved? Please help. Thanks in advance.
SRacin 44 Report post Posted June 8, 2016 FYI perseverance is the answer. I sat through the alarm going off and for a further 20mins. Then went through the key initialization process about 5 times before it worked. Now have one key working at least. The manual is poorly worded, but accurate. Will post a picture of my NZ manual up later for future reference.
