ipwnyou 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2006 Hey, Re-installed the sounds in the car last night, and when done, we took the car for a test drive. When we indicate left, it makes this horrible buzzing noise like as if it was comming from a buzzer under the steering colum and the indicator doesnt work. Indicating right does work, however. Any idea what that could be? Thanks
bimmerbaz 1 Report post Posted February 4, 2006 where did you take your power supply and earth from?
ipwnyou 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2006 Power from battery and earth from a few mount points in the boot. THe problem is intermittent after driving for 7 hours...only stops once in a while. I think its just a loose connection under the steering coloumn that i'll dismantle and take a look later.
bimmerbaz 1 Report post Posted February 5, 2006 Check your flasher relay, under the steering column, pull apart and check the contacts if it is the old type or check solder joints with magnifyinglass on new. also check indicator stalk switching with voltmeter for curant drop. Neal 544 Report post Posted February 5, 2006 Did you install a stereo joystick remote into the steering column , if so re-check the holes you've may have drilled. (mounting screws may have shorted some wires)
Neal 544 Report post Posted February 7, 2006 Don't know if you solved this , but also make sure the connector to your left rear light cluster is pushed all the way in. It may have come out partly while working in the boot.
