cjb 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2017 Hi, Just wondering what engine oil options I have? Quite prepared to spend a few extra dollars for good stuff. Cheers Callum
*Glenn* 855 Report post Posted January 31, 2017 (edited) I would suggest using a branded full synthetic 5w30 meeting the required spec. We use ELF Evolution 900 FTX 5w30 API:SN/CF,ILSAC:GF5 I would also suggest checking the coolant and only use genuine coolant. 3 X 1.5 litre bottles. There is also a special venting (bleeding) proceedure Edited January 31, 2017 by *Glenn* Not thinking

I've recently been thinking about the coolant actually so will get that done this weekend - thanks! I have previously used the BMW coolant on my e36 which I got from BM Workshop.. its not the cheapest stuff out there, from memory double what regular coolant costs. *Glenn* 855 Report post Posted February 28, 2017 You may need to use a diagnostic machine to vent (bleed) the cooling system. It doesn't always work as seen on UTube. And you will need a 14 volt charger on the battery while this process is carried out.

Is it time intensive, or 'just' a matter of having the right tools?
*Glenn* 855 Report post Posted March 1, 2017 (edited) We charge $195 to do the job- 1 hr labour & 3 X 1.5 liter bottles of genuine coolant + Gst. This process is only required on vehicles with electronic water pumps. All the others are bled in the normal fashion.
