qube 3570 Report post Posted October 26, 2017 Anyone have an alternative to this? http://www.purems.com/product.php?II=77 The NZD/USD is pretty rubbish and dont feel like spending a hundred bucks on centre caps.. looking for the 70mm outer 64mm inner size caps any colours considered
Gabe79 410 Report post Posted October 26, 2017 If you're not in a rush, I can get them brought here for free early December, saves you the shipping at least.
swapsndeals 108 Report post Posted October 30, 2017 If it's for rs there is a way you can use the stickers that look like caps from Ali express few $ each lol. That's what I noticed BMW did with their emblem on bbs rs they are stuck to a rubber mounting on inside of hex cap to offset it could be done with other types of bbs psossibly. qube 3570 Report post Posted October 30, 2017 have tried using the original BMW caps with 68mm outside diameter which is okay its supposed to be 70mm but cant really tell the difference. But the inside clip is 65mm on the BMW caps so doesnt fit inside the 64mm hole of the wheels.. bit annoying really.. genuine ones so expensive and exchange rate doesnt help
swapsndeals 108 Report post Posted October 31, 2017 https://m.ebay.com/itm/4PCS-70MM-Wheel-Center-Hub-Caps-Emblem-Badge-Decal-Stickers-for-BBS-Golden-Black-/112518572706 I used these in silver. There were already rubber rings/spacers in my hex nuts then just stuck these on top they are lighter than the heavy bbs ones and cheaper to replace, then you don't have to worry about 64mm inside fitment. Not sure it will work on the wheels you are talking about with a home made spacer with glue though. Kind of seems budget but thats how the genuine BMW emblems were fitted before I replaced them with bbs so didn't even look into getting genuine caps
qube 3570 Report post Posted October 31, 2017 it is a big hole. I cant find any type of centre cap to fit at all so nothing to put the stickers on to..
swapsndeals 108 Report post Posted October 31, 2017 Urethane on the inside. Otherwise genuine is the way to go. You could try this guy to see if he has spares Paul Ehrlich [email protected]
Gabe79 410 Report post Posted October 31, 2017 It dawned on me today that you're probably looking for the same reason I am. From reading various links, the 70/64 C type is the right deal, but there are some other options that amount to the same thing. Post #17 here has some alternative ideas. I'm going to grab a single one of the Mitsubishi caps to try, if that works, I'll grab 3 more. http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?3215651-yet-another-center-cap-question Offer stands on free shipping from the US at least. qube 3570 Report post Posted October 31, 2017 http://www.brazeauracing.com/bbscenters.htm ^ this will work for you since you are looking for the inner part to suit the BBS RC without the cover plate thing. I know I need 70/64 type C but they are bloody expensive. I might work something out DIY.. you can imagine the look on the missus' face when I asked if I can buy 4x plastic bits for $200nzd. me : her:
Gabe79 410 Report post Posted October 31, 2017 (edited) I bet she wasn't impressed. I've looked at that link before, didn't inspire confidence. I've ordered four mitsubishi MN184312 to test. Found them for $27USD including shipping to here from Japan. Will let you know how it goes whenever they get here. EDIT: Ordered mine from here: https://www.amayama.com/en/part/mitsubishi/mn184312 Edited October 31, 2017 by Gabe79

I'd like to cover the BBS logo with a BMW logo when I get them.

When I ordered I got 20 I think but used 2 sets in place of old BMW ones on a few sets of 15" basket weaves & also on rs
