carrera 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2006 I just bought a E30, it only comes with one key. I went to a keycutter today but the guy told me that I need to go to BMW to get one cut. Is it true? unlike the modern one, it is just a simple key without any chips .

OLLIE 26 Report post Posted March 12, 2006 if it doesn't have any chips in it then as long as you can find the right blank then anyone can make a copy of your key. so no it's not true, unless bmw is the only place that has blanks for their keys, which would be fairly typical of them
