m325i 709 Report post Posted July 1, 2019 I just bought a dongle and the Bimmercode app. (For an F25). I know there are overseas forums, but in the interest of local chat, anyone used this before? Tips/tricks/recommendations?
sobanoodle 45 Report post Posted July 2, 2019 Just run it and it'll tell you what you can code, module by module - fairly basic and straightforward. Wouldn't touch the expert mode for now
BlackrazorNZ 83 Report post Posted July 2, 2019 Yep i've used it, just for some basic stuff like coding out the fake engine noise and defaulting stop/start to 'Off' instead of 'On' in Comfort mode. Pretty easy and foolproof in standard mode, but as Soba says, I wouldn't touch expert unless you really knew what you were doing.
m325i 709 Report post Posted July 2, 2019 It's not linked to a car right? You can flash multiple cars?

No, you just pay for a license and it will work across lots of BMW's. But only BMW's with an OBD and of certain series. The cars it works with are listed here, along with an idea of what it can do with each of them : https://bimmercode.app/cars/bmw/
sobanoodle 45 Report post Posted July 3, 2019 They recently added E-series as well. Coding options hugely depend on your bimmer's specs. I.e you won't have folding mirrors if you do not have a comfort access. 12 hours ago, BlackrazorNZ said: stuff like coding out the fake engine noise I actually like it, probably because mine is a diesel

I have folding mirrors (by switch) but no comfort access. Also a fan of fake noise - Can you change the noise to say M5 fake noise?
