Been playing it for just under a week now, wicked as game but oh so very system resource intensive even with my 6800GT gfx card. I'vehad to play with heaps of settings to get this right.

Tips, download the 84.25 nvdia driver and install the nforce cooltips as it lets you fiddle with the hidden settings where you can increase the frame rate and free up the slow as mouse movement in the menu by setting maxFramesToRenderAhead to 0

If you've got a HT intel chip or dual core AMD chip then edit the .ini file in the saves directory and set the iThreads & iOpenMPLevel values to 10 or more.

Doing these to settings changes made the biggest improvement and lets me max out the visual distances and lighting effects.

It's a tricky little game, played through with fighter and finished the main quest ending with level 28 character...started a new game with a pure mage character and without leveling up have almost finished it with him at just level 4 as the creatures increase in strength as your character does.

Sucks not playing with the HDR turned on

I'm running 2.4Ghz HT with 1GB DDR on a nvidia 6800 gfx card, get FPS ranging from 15 - 60+ (use console and type in 'tdt' to get FPS count)

The game is very GPU and CPU intensive, ram over 1GB doesn't make jack all difference...so anyone got a spare 3GHz chip for sale???

E: BTW, I refuse to play anything below 1280 res but for this game I have to play in 1024 res
