Ryj911 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2020 (edited) I’m wondering whether anyone can provide some advice on issues I’m having with the soft top of my Z4. I’m aware of the design flaw and that the Z4 suffers with roof issues primarily caused by water ingress to the hydraulic motor behind the passenger seat. I’ve tried to release the Boden cable in the boot and this has no effect (doesn’t seem to budge at all). The roof releases from the catches at the top of the windscreen and the roof can be manually pulled back about 12 inches but then won’t go back any further. The Boden cable doesn’t seem to help at all. Does any member of this page have any experience of fixing the roofs of Z4’s or could recommend someone to replace the hydraulic motor? I’m Christchurch based. TIA Edited January 5, 2020 by Ryj911
Ryj911 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2020 I was hoping to avoid taking it into a dealer , I reckon they’d charge like a wounded bull. Maybe an independent mechanic that knows his way around a Z4 would be ideal.
