X3 2004 E83 RPM fluctuation - Help needed to diagnose

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Have been having an issue with my X3 (250000km) having a small fluctuation (Approx 100) in RPM when idling.

I did have it diagnosed and the P code was for spark plug and/or ignition coil on number 2 cylinder.

I have replaced both and no change.

Also been noticing a squeaking whirring sound from the left hand side of the engine (pax side of car) no fault showing on the OBD2.

Any ideas.

TIA.

P codes won't help. It could be a number of things. You need to get it diagnosed by a BMW specialist or the dealer otherwise you'll end up with empty pockets and getting nowhere. It's more than likely to be air leaks
