Jonfromhamilton 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2021 Hey everyone Currently live in Melbourne and never owned a BMW but have wanted an E30 for a long time and nearly bought a couple 318 here but missed out. The Mrs and I have recently made the choice to move back in a year or so and so I checked out trademe to see what an E30 goes for and they're way cheaper in NZ it seems so I'll hold off. One of the ones I nearly bought here had an M50b25 in it and so I want to do that when I get one. We are likely to bring a shipping container back so I'm thinking about whether it's a good idea to get the engine and box here rather than try and source one in nzl. If you have any advice on that would be great and also the engineering side in nzl too as far as requirements for upgrading brakes for that conversion. qube 3570 Report post Posted June 16, 2021 I think M50b25 engines are easy ish to find but a manual box is not as easy. If you can find one cheap and shipping isnt a killer then might not be a bad idea.
