westnz 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2021 Hi, I'm having issues with my headlights. They failed vtnz wof due to needing adjustment. Neither the vtnz guy or my new mechanic can adjust them because the previous mechanic a couple years ago worked on them in such a way my new mechanic says 1 of them need total replacement. Instead of the mission and spending ~$400 for a second hand headlight, I'm wondering if I can completely replace both headlights with some angel eye projector headlights ~$880. Is that legal? From what I can gather from wof rules you can't put hid bulbs in halogen headlights but you can replace the entire headlights with hid? 2004 E85 3.0i Thanks. aja540i 1906 Report post Posted October 22, 2021 Yes you can replace the entire unit if it was an option from new, have done it on a previous e39, VTNZ guy tried to fail my WOF because he thought the entire wiring loom needed to be replaced to handle the high voltage for the HID bulbs! I have never been back to that VTNZ...
