Felldown 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2022 Hiya! I have a 2007 525i M-Sport wagon, a month or so ago I had a Level Control System Failure pop up on my dash. I took it to my regular mechanic who's always been super good. He plugged in the diagnostic and couldn't find the source. He even put the car on the hoist and tried checking out the sensors and compressor. Turns out, for some reason, water was getting into the spare wheel compartment in the boot where there are relays and other components. I pulled this all apart, dried them all out and put it back together again and that got rid of the failure. But just recently it's happened again, but, I tried the same thing where I removed the water and dried out the relays and it didn't work. I even brought new relays in case they had corroded with the water. The system failure is still there. And one day the compressor was running hard out, even when I had turned off and locked the car. Does anyone have an idea on what may be wrong? I've tried tracing all wiring and everything I can. The car air suspension seems fine, it's not sagging at all either. User Name 19 Report post Posted August 8, 2022 Just a thought, might help might not If there is water i suggest dealing with that first or at least putting die-electric grease or lithium grease on components (also if its had water in it for awhile it could get into the wires causing intermittent faults you will never trace down) - I used to use a dehumidifier in my boot after any water was cleaned up and amazed how much more you would pull out of the air showing that there was still lots of moisture around. I was also recently talking to a UK guy who was helping me for part prices and actually has a similar issue, His ended up being water actually inside the compressor which no-one managed to find until they were taking hoses off to manually run the compressor and bypass the electrics. So maybe worth checking the compressor itself and the hoses for good measure or just bypassing the internal electrics with some wire and seeing if the fault comes up. What ever you decide i do hope you find a fix or it just fixes itself as cars do at times, cause the hrs i have spent on some of my bmw's over the years just for it to one day work haha.
