That_Bimmer123 3 Report post Posted May 20 (edited) Hi all, I Have a 06 pre lci e61 530i, I am swapping the transmission from 6hp19 (which has sh*t the bed) to a 6hp21 from an lci 530i. Unfortunately 6hp21 isn't a straight swap for pre lci cars with Msv70 and 6hp19, I already have the transmission with a n52 engine, full harness, msv80 ecu cas and keys from the same donor car and lci throttle body, plan to get lci MAF, what else am I missing ?, have read up a lot of e9x transmission swaps on forums and I imagine it should be similar for e61 but still would like to hear any recommendations of things I might need. so far I have: - 6hp21 - MSV80 ecu , cas and keys - Lci Throttle body Also the plan is to swap in the cas and msv80 which i will have to swap some pins around once i go through the wiring diagrams for both lci and pre lci e60s and bolt in the new transmission then go from there i will also have to code some other modules like DSC using bmw standard tools later on, would love to hear from somone who attempted this before or experince with a similar swap to guide me on what else i need to complete this swap. Had a talk with one of the shops over the shore problem I have is my msv80, keys and cas are from 525i and it requires quite a lot of messing around to flash it to 530i software. You can't just use msv70 software and chuck it on as Msv80 is a lot different. Still looking to find msv80 and the rest from 530i as it will make this quite simple. also turns out i might need cluster aswell for the ews from the same donner car and shifter. Ps. At this point the way wreckers are quoting prices for 530i specific dme and stuff makes more sense to just buy a 6hp19 and forget about all this Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
