GTR Kiwi 3 Report post Posted July 8 Hi all, I am new to this forum. I am trying to help my cousin with her newly purchased 2015 BMW X4 35i. The car is a Japanese import and a beautiful tidy grade 4.5 car. I am trying to put NZ gps maps into it and found and downloaded the correct NEXT maps from oemnavigations.com. The maps were free but I would need to purchase an FSC code to make them work, which is fine. The problem is the car wont recognise the usb with the NZ maps loaded. As I read it may be that I need to somehow change the nav head unit firmware. Does anybody know anything about this and how to go about it? The BMW genuine download site is no longer in operation. Any info appreciated. Cheers, Stephen.

GTR Kiwi 3 Report post Posted July 18 I thought I sent a re-ply but it may be that I didnt......operator error. 😏 If you can help with this it will be greatly appreciated. Also, if you have any idea how to install the code and maps again it would be appreciated. I thought by inserting the USB with maps, the system would recognise them and prompt for the FSC code, but nothing happens when the usb is inserted. It just messages unknown media file. Thanks in advance. Stephen.

GTR Kiwi 3 Report post Posted July 22 Hi Bimmer, thanks so much for this. I will download and let you know how I get on trying to load this week end. I assume just unzip the file to a USB and insert into the USB slot in the center console? Then follow instructions...something I am good at after 41 years married.😁
The Bimmer 12 Report post Posted July 22 you need to change your vehicle order(FA) first to NZ specs by coding before using the patch file otherwise you end up your headunit unresponsive.
GTR Kiwi 3 Report post Posted July 23 Ok Bimmer, lucky I asked or I would have fried the head unit. I am quite the novice with this and so wouldn't have a clue how to change my vehicle to NZ specs. Can you shed any light on this please? All I have managed to do is change Japanese to English but I assume there is a whole lot more to it than this. Cheers. Stephen.
